Aloha to everyone...
There are sooooo many things in life that keep us extremely busy... and we forget the things we like to do most...
Its again, an end to another school year.. kids are growing so quickly .. and times sure are changing very quickly.. I think I've noticed more this year than any other.. that due to this extremely lousy economy there are alot of people moving, having to sell.. and/or scaling down and trying to save money. I think we all may face making sacrifices in some way or another. But the main thing we really must remember is that it is really all "just stuff!" I think during all our lifetimes we all got caught up in obtaining "stuff" in our lives.. whether its personal items, items and gadgets for our homes..or just plain old "keeping up with the Jones' type syndrome."
What I have learned through all of this is to be thankful for all I DO HAVE... for having my health, family, and my very deep faith in God.. is really all I need...
Enjoy your day!!!

I am sitting here .... listening for my "whisper.." I love watching Oprah... and her new shows... Life Class with universal and international people... around the world.. as guests on these shows.. Like Oprah says ..."listen for your whisper!!" This particular Life Class show.. highlights .. the capture and arrest of Jaycee Dugard's kidnapper... where after 18 years of being held hostage.. and over 60 visits to this home... FINALLY ... someone was listening... and got the whisper...I know this "whisper" that Oprah talks about is kind of a "women's intuition" per say..
I have been a dedicated Mother for quite sometime but always had this desire to be something MORE.. something that I have created .. generated.. and made uniquely .. myself. I enjoy using my creative talents whether in writings, my artwork... MY creativity.... I believe that when I am "creating" I go to a different place... its full of adrenaline ... enthusiasm.... joy.. and comfort. I know that my talents are with me to share with others and that I have something very personal to share with our ever changing world... all I know is ... Lord I KNOW about this whisper or voice... and personally Lord, I'm waiting and listenin!!!...

Moving to Tulsa
| Guest post written by my buddy Franklin Davenport My husband and I are moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is an architect and one of his best friends, also an architect, recently opened a firm there and business is so busy and crazy that he cannot handle it all himself. My husband has developed a great clientele in Atlanta, Georgia, and we have many friends here, but we are young and have not started a family yet so this is the time to explore and enjoy new experiences in a new city. This is a great opportunity for him and I am really excited. I am an interior designer and both of us can keep clients here and fly back and forth as needed. We found a great house in downtown Tulsa, a flat that was once part of a factory. We have great plans for that space! I checked out direct tv to see what was available in the area. I also talked with the utility companies about getting connections before we actually move so that I don’t have those things to worry about after we are there. |

Comforting thoughts...
I have been sooo busy and crazy this last month... that at this point I am trying to slow down and wish that I could find something as comforting as a baby blanket .. to relax my mind, nerves and emotions. My mind has been so boggled by so many ridiculous situations... that I can hardly sleep. I wasn't sleeping well in the first place... but to be able to completely sleep through the night like baby sleep for at least one night a week.. I would be eternally grateful. I seem to have this unique knack to be able to find or to be any particular situation... with all the greatest of intentions... but things never seem to fail, get worse and even more complicated. Is it truly that difficult to be able to generate a decent income using my God given talents??? Ive also discovered that my even great talent is to PRAY... and pray alot !!! Have I truly missed my boat?? Could this truly be just a "pipe dream??"
I think NOT!!!
I know in my heart that all things work together for good...
So I remain faithful... and yes prayerful...
Aloha & A Hui Hou...!!

Company Retreat
Thanks for the article from Jermaine Haynes
As a team, we are spending this coming weekend going on a retreat to work on defining our business goals and statement (or mission) of purpose. Knowing what your goals are, and being on the same page with everyone toward meeting those goals, is fundamental to a company’s success. Today I am spending time on smallbusiness.xo.com to see how technology can help us meet the goals we agree on. I think this retreat is just what the company needs right now anyway. We will participate in team-building, as well as moral-building, activities in the morning, followed by a nice lunch. We will then break into small groups with different questions each group is responsible for brainstorming answers to. We will then meet back as a large group to share our discussions and develop a plan for the company. In the evenings, there will be free time, with entertainment available, as well as opportunities for further learning and discussion. A lot of work has gone into planning this retreat, and I’m really looking forward to it.

Okay ... soooooooo
Ok... soooo I had a new experience today... luckily.. there will be a happy ending for today... I THINK..
We've ALWAYS carried Triple AAA ... car service... since I can remember and if we make it till November it will be 27 years of marriage... and I've NEVER had to use it.. and believe me .. I've had my share of incidents with a vehicle... just ask my husband..
Anyway.. I just went TODAY in fact.. to get an estimate on getting a tired replaced... and had an appointment scheduled for this Friday... trying to catch a sale.. at the place (I dont think I can name the place..not sure but dont want to get in trouble..) that supposedly starts this Friday.. go figure.. sooooo to make a long story longer... I've never had an occasion to have a blow out on a tire.. several other vehicle incidents but never a blow out... Now knowing that I was getting the tired replaced I felt more comfortable and was super extra careful.. driving etc.. But none the less... after picking up my daughter.. at school... I hit one of those speed bumps just right... and there was such a loud noise .. I thought someone fired a gun!!! and had no idea it was me or should I say MY TIRE.. !! Okay so I was lucky not to be driving one of the longer highways... where there is absolutely NOTHING IN BETWEEN your two destinations but beautiful views and a couple of scattered goats!!!
I was VERY THANKFUL for that.. !! I contacted AAA to schedule my trip back down the hill as they say here... and the guy instructed me to call back after midnight.. to schedule for the same day..
I then called at about 12:15am .. and got a very friendly understanding representative Keith.. I then explained to him my situation.... cause I'm thinking I'm talking to someone here in Hawaii.. but that office is already closed.... and it is a 24 hour service so this guy is in LA...God Bless him... cause he listened, laughed and understood... as I had to run outside to actually find the address of where I was.. (I was staying at a friends house) ... it is very very dark here on the island .. and trying to find an address with a flash light in my pjs I'm sure would have been a wonderful site... for some poor soul.. Anyway, we got things set up for the first thing in the morning... a 50 mile ride in the tow truck... actually very interesting.. very nice young guy that knew alot about the island...
Finally got to the place where they would be replacing my tire... and I knew it would be awhile... because of them fitting me in and it was a last minute appointment... they said it would take a few hours .... LIKE FOUR HOURS LATER.... they tell me the tire is on ... but THEY CANT BALANCE IT OR ALIGN IT!!! HELLLOOOO !!! FILM AT ELEVEN.... AHHHHHHHHH!!! I love this island... but sometimes... its SOOOOOOOO FRUSTRATING!!!!

Things don't ALWAYS look the way they seem??
I have always lived in transient places.... Places where people..move to... and it takes about two years to find out if they will actually make it living there... for lack of jobs, friends or just plain homesick to move back where they came from. For this reason their roots don't really take here and when you think you've possibly made a friend or two... in this day and age, with the lousy economy, large companies closing, the small businesses starving, hours and wages being cut, and people resorting to desperate measures just to make ends meet.... people and situations don't ALWAYS look they way they seem. Unfortunately, these unpredictable situations are what change people and the maybe once kind and caring person... will do just about anything to a possible friend just to get ahead or avoid an expense even if it affects that other persons livelyhood. So instead of helping one another... it seems as though we are just out there to, like Archie Bunker used to say.. "Take care of #1!!" It truly is very sad... and totally against how I was raised, anyway... So I'm finding through my experiences these days... that I need to have a tougher skin... rely on my instinct .. and ever faithful women's intuition.... to get me through my day whether its personal or business.
I never thought I'd say it .. but "It sure wasn't like this in the "Olden days... "
Thank God I still have my faith...
A Hui Hou... we're NOT in Kansas anymore... :)
