Ive always wanted to be a writer ... but honestly, really didnt think anyone really wanted to listen or read what what I wanted to say or write .. 

I discovered blogging a while back but haven't really kept up with things... probably and mostly because of past remembrances of what I was always told growing up.  But, I have been RE - INSPIRED.. and would love to start gaining an audience.  Blogging I think closely reminds me of "Carrie" on Sex in the City ... writing her thoughts ... ideas and creative insights .... I really enjoy being creative, whether its with pencils, paints, sewing, designing AND writing ... 

I know it was always drilled into me as a child growing up in the 70's .. that me, young creative young woman should just "learn how to type" ... I LITERALLY HATED THAT STATEMENT ... and all that it meant ... THEN and to this day ... I BELIEVE parents, above ANYONE in a child's family should ... BE COMPLETELY POSITIVE and totally encourage that child's interests, goals and dreams.  Especially during the formative years.  I mean I'm glad I learned how to type .. but to literally "cut off" creativity ... I believe is stifling and  COMPLETELY WRONG ..

Everything happens for a reason ...

Each day brings new adventure .. new ideas... new opportunities ... new ways to change our lives ..

We MUST remain POSITIVE .. although its quite difficult at times and through certain circumstances .. there is truly a POSITIVE no matter how NEGATIVE .. things seem to be at that moment ...  I did and it was bought to my attention ... just recently .. not even a week ago.  I was having a really "down" day .. even after always preaching positivity to everyone I meet .. somehow ..its much more difficult when its YOUR LIFE.  Just a couple of days ago a stranger walked in my store .. and as always I started to find out about them .. their visit ... their background.. where they are from ... and what they do for a living etc.  I quickly found out I was in a conversation with a known motivational speaker .. with a positive group ... connected with The Secret .. and its wonderful members .. I found out about The Secret several years ago ... It is a book and a movie .. and very interesting .. focusing on the POSITIVE .. focusing on abundance ..and that there is enough for everyone .. as there is enough for everyone .. We spoke and I quickly realized like myself .. he has a personal relationship with God and he prayed with me .. He gifted me a renewal that day... he changed and renewed my mood, attitude and mental direction.  It was really something I needed at that moment ... and that day ... I am truly focusing on the positive... through this new adventure ... God does works in mysterious ways ..We all have a special purpose in this life.. God makes NO MISTAKES .... ☺️

What you give out ... you get back in return ..

In life ... its important  ... to remember at all times ... What you give out .... you get back in return .. Soooo with that being said ... I have learned this very thing through a ridiculously negative childhood..... Unfortunately .. in this life .. we tend to dwell and almost seem to "look for the negative" in things. It's a shame ... but true ... 
Did you ever notice .. that when someone is injured or has a cast on ... that we're more apt to ask HOW the person was injured than how they are doing ... We tend to look at a gory detail rather than the REAL issue of how to help ... the person. We are alllll guilty of this .... We alllll can get caught up in the "negative" of life... its very easy to do ... BUT we can also make it turn into the POSITIVE !!!  I tried teaching this to my own mother .... but sorry to say some people just don't want to change enough .. it never worked with her ... NEGATIVITY ... can literally kill you ... I watched it happen right in front of my eyes ... 

Ive learned to take each negative event, statement, event, situation, even word or glimmer of a thought ... and find something POSITIVE as I know that there always is ...

So the next time one of those creepy negativities show up .... SQUASH IT ...

"Flying the friendly skies .... "

Okay soooo ...I'm flying the friendly skies ... as they say ... Very interesting ... For all the years we've traveled ... I honestly can't remember when was the last time I've flown by myself ...  find it very interesting to see lots of people getting on and off planes... business trips, visiting airports all over the country as just a part of their normal work week... From the Big Island to the Big Apple... I know it sounds weird, especially in this day and age... but seriously, this IS a bit of an adventure for me ... in lots of ways.. Im excited and scared all at the same time.. but its ALL GOOD... Im ready for some rest, fun and relaxation ... Times Square, Central Park, Michael and Kelly, The Rocketttes, Broadway... The Statue of Liberty and Ground Zero ....  IYou know with the way the world is ... today .. Its DEFINITELY thought provoking to say the least... I'm a bit anxious to see Ground Zero in person... as it reflects soo much our thoughts and prayers for our Country.. Our  Country is in great need of POSITIVENESS... with terrorism and and upcoming election ... sometimes, I know some people differ, but for the most part... all we really can do is pray... 

I am really excited and very thankful ... for being able to go on this trip and to see a "real" city... especially NYC!!!  THIS CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS ...!!! LOL... I better get some sleep before arriving ... so I can write more about my adventures... and not sleep through these exciting days ahead..

Don't get me wrong... but

Don't get me wrong ... I love my life and family... and they are the absolute best ...They are very thankful, giving and appreciative, and I wouldn't change things for the world.  But,  I would love to know how did it get so creatively convient to realize that when women get a job OUTSIDE the home ... that they are FINALLY working ... REALLY ??? SERIOUSLY???  I find this super interesting ... and kinda frustrating to say the least ... I'm not sure where this assumption comes from.. Where and how does a family think that all the cooking, cleaning, and housework actually gets done???  Miracle guardian angels???  Menihune maids???  Do they think that we have a magic wand in our arsenal ???  I found it very interesting that hear the approximate salary of a full time Homemaker - being as how this profession encompasses the following .. Private Chef, House Cleaner, Child Care, Driver, Laundry Service, Lawn Maintenance, and Property Manager .. just to name a few... If you added all of these approximate salaries up 

The Bottom Line
Total for a year of all service is: $52,260 + $6,127 + $31,200 + $4,168 + $936 +$1,560 = $96,261 per year... 

Well, for not having a four year college degree... it pretty much adds up to almost $100,000.00 a year which sounds like its really not too shabby... ... or about $1923.00 per week.. But, I failed to mention there are NO paid holidays, NO days off, NO sick time, NO vacation and NO retirement .... lol.. and yea .. just a little side note... ABSOLUTELY NO TRAINING WHATSOEVER.. lol.. not even a little bit of a manual to refer to... when you really get stumped... However, there are some women that are fortunate enough to have a mentor .. but not all.  I was fortunate to have married into a family that had a very experienced, inspirational, genuinely loving and caring mentor... as the family I was born into had a defective one.... it happens .. and I understand it totally could have been worse .. but the most important thing I learned being born into that situation .. was "what NOT to be like"... but that has really nothing to do with my entry this time.... 

I am quite entertained by the fact that people think that being home raising a family and running a household ... has exact hours .. and that we can kind of do ... whatever we want ... whenever we want... but anyone who has at least one child know that thats NOT the case... YOU ARE ON CALL 24/7 .... literally no matter where you are!!!  At least now we can try to problem solve and put out small fires through email, texting and FaceTime... THANK YOU APPLE.. but things are they way they are ... Once you're a Mother and/or Parent... YOUR JOB NEVER ENDS... so this is why you should make POSITIVELY SURE .. before you decide to be a PARENT .. but thats a whole other ballgame to be discussed at another time lol...  I've listened to many women who have more than one child .. and they say its easier ... and I can see that as the children will be able to help each other and their parents.. We decided to have only one.. and she is the best!!!  

So back to the topic at hand... when a woman decides or is forced to go back to the "full time" community by our lovely economy .. it can be quite an undertaking ... you have to reschedule just about everything .. and the so called days off ... haha are now consumed with ALLLL the things you weren't able to do during your previous job's week (i.e. Homemaker position ..) Its funny because you then realize and make it a point to really prioritize your work.  Including ... time for yourself... which is pretty much impossible if you ask me.. lol  ..

So in conclusion ... If you are a full-time Homemaker, please don't let anyone ever tell you .. that you are JUST a housewife... because you are MUCH MORE and always will be .. and if you have a "full time gig" outside of the home .. I applaud you and understand completely your task at hand.. as I recently joined the "full time gig" scene as well... so ladies.. find sometime for YOU and relax .. do a little something that you enjoy "just for you!!" YOU DESERVE IT!!!  Happy Sunday!!!

"Freedom of Choice...."

Are your  black or white???  Do you like blue or green ???  Would you prefer purple or orange....  vanilla or chocolate???  This is all about YOUR CHOICE... and YOUR FREEDOM TO CHOOSE .... As an Artist and a parent ... I find it very difficult to choose...   and try to encourage creativity .. within reason.. lol.. and thats what I really love about art, color and design ... and why I feel when it comes to these type of "creative" choices.. there mostly really isn't a right or wrong ... its what YOU LIKE ... PERIOD.  I mean lets face it ... it gets boring to have vanilla all the time.  I find that when I am surrounded by beautiful talented people and their work the more creative ideas start forming and I can get very lost in creativity.  I love to explore all types of creativity from art, design, color, painting, drawing, writing, fashion and beauty.  This is why I try to indulge is ALL the creative opportunities God has given me the talent to explore.  It makes me feel excited and alive..  There is too much to explore in our beautiful world to not take part.  Creativity surrounds us.   Have you ever thought of that???  God made this big beautiful world and each of us are different and have so many different things to bring to the table.  It would be horribly boring if we were all the same...  It would be like going to Baskin Robbins and all they had was vanilla... :(   Could you imagine??? No rocky road, no nutty coconut .. and no... mint chip??  So whether you choose blonde .. brunette... or auburn... its your choice.. Don't be afraid to try something different.. and most of all try not to criticize others for their creative choices...  its pretty much your personal right to make a creative choice...

Creativity is EVERYWHERE.. so I go for ALL OF THE ABOVE... LOL....
